Need and Objective

The RCA Study process includes the development of alternatives based on projected roadway capacity and safety needs, identifies possible environmental impacts and mitigation opportunities, and will result in the recommendation of a preferred alternative.

The need for the CR 19A RCA Study includes the following:

• High levels of existing traffic (15,000 vehicles per day in 2006)

• Peak hour traffic sees delays

• Numerous crashes throughout the corridor

• Large population growth expected to continue

• Traffic is projected to reach 22,000 vehicles per day in 2030

• Existing roadway and geometric deficiencies

• Corridor redevelopment

• Pedestrian and bicyclist safety

• Beautification of the corridor
