PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT

This public involvement page together with the rest of the website has been developed to keep you informed during the CR 19A RCA Study.

Public involvement is a very important aspect of the development of this project. The goal of the RCA Study process is to consider all public input and concerns during the study process in order to provide a roadway facility acceptable to the community. Lake County is coordinating with the City of Eustis, the City of Mt. Dora, the Florida Department of Transportation, government agencies and other "stakeholders" of the project. Informal Public Workshops and a formal Public Hearing in conjunction with a Board of County Commissioners meeting will be held during the study, as well as individual or group meetings as necessary to address public concerns. Dates, times and locations of upcoming meetings will be included on this website as they become available.

Newsletters will be mailed periodically to elected and appointed officials, property owners, interested persons and media to keep those interested informed about the project progress and of upcoming meeting dates.

One of the first documents developed during the RCA Study, the Public Involvement Program (PIP), is used to identify potential social and economic effects of the project, establish pro-active public outreach programs that will be maintained through completion of the study and to incorporate input from the elected/appointed officials, residents, governmental agencies, business owners, and interested persons into the improvement design process. The main goals of the program are to:

  • Facilitate involvement and participation from the affected community;

  • Distribute pertinent project related information;

  • Solicit public input to the development of improvement alternatives;

  • Incorporate public input into the decision-making process; and

  • Determine the level of project acceptance.

The PIP identifies the following opportunities for those interested in the project to gather information and to be involved in the project:
